Description
When Chrysler transitioned to the aluminum A-833 bell housing for the 1970 model year, the flywheel inspection cover changed to a 10-inch diameter to match the new casting. This cover shields the flywheel or flexplate from road debris and is essential for containing any fluid that may escape from the transmission or rear main seal. The original steel cover is prone to rust and distortion, especially on cars that have seen years of road use. This ABS plastic replacement fits the aluminum bell housing bolt pattern on 1970-1974 big block Mopar engines.
Bolt the cover into the factory inspection opening on the bottom of the bell housing. The corrosion-proof ABS material will never rust or deform from heat cycling, outlasting any steel replacement by a wide margin. Verify that your vehicle has the aluminum bell housing before ordering, as the earlier cast iron housing requires the larger 11-inch cover.
